Duncan Meerding is a lighting and furniture designer/maker based in Hobart, Tasmania. His work focuses on timeless design and ethical construction.

 

Practising since 2010, his work has gained international recognition, including being voted by over 6000 of his peers ‘Best Floor Light of 2018’ at the DARC awards in London, completing a range of commissions both domestic and commercial from hospitality to ambassadorial. In 2023 Duncan had a large-scale immersive work selected for the Vivid Sydney light walk

 

He has exhibited internationally, including at Milan Design week and Vivid Sydney.

 

In July 2019 and August 2022 Duncan was a guest teaching fellow at the Bartlett Architecture School at University College London, teaching design making as a world leading vision impaired practitioner.
